“You’re the one I want, you’re the one I need. Baby, if I was a King, ah, you would be my Queen. You’re the rock in my roll, You’re good for my soul. It’s true- I’m head over boots for you.” Both Megan and Alex smiled from ear to ear as they danced, dipped, and twirled around the dance floor during their first dance. And everyone in the room was smiling with them! Because, really! What’s sweeter than witnessing a newlywed couple’s first dance?
The day started off at the Hyatt Regency Huntington Beach. Sitting on the famous HWY 1, this gorgeous hotel has all the classy California vibes. Beautiful tall palm trees, vibrant gardens, gorgeous fountains, and it sits right on the water overlooking the Pacific. The Hyatt Regency was the perfect location to have Alex and Megan’s first look, couple portraits and bridal party portraits! The clean, elegant architecture matched the day’s entire look. (While on the topic of the bridal party I want to quickly give them a big shoutout because they’ve been THE BEST bridal party to date!)
The ceremony was held at Saints Simon & Jude Catholic Church. The church was decorated with pretty greenery down the aisle, and the ceremony was beautiful. In addition, it was fun getting to hear Megan and Alex’s answers to the questions the priest had asked them during their prior meetings.
The day ended at the Senior Center in Central Park. The reception was filled with pretty shades of blush and some delicate touches of eucalyptus. The soft light seeping through the windows amplified the perfectness of it all. However, the love and cheer that filled the hall was what made everything beautiful.
To Megan & Alex,
Thank you so much for trusting me with your big day! Everything was beautiful, and seeing how much both of you are loved by your guests was such an honor to witness. You have the kindest family and the funnest friends. I wish you nothing but the best, and I hope that one day you two are the last ones standing during the “anniversary dance” like your grandparents were at yours. Enjoy your photos!
