I’ve said it million times before, and I’ll say it again: Mommy and Me (Mother’s Day) Mini Sessions are some of my all-time favorite!  As a mom, I know how hard it is to get in front of the camera with your kids because we’re usually the ones who are behind it, documenting as much of our little’s life’s as we can (no matter their age).  Or let’s face it: we are usually in yoga pants and a messy bun, and not camera ready per our standards. Although I encourage mom’s to take all the photos in the world with their kids, regardless of how they look in the moment, it’s nice to get dolled up, and take pictures that you’ll cherish for a lifetime.  It brings me such happiness and it’s such an honor to be able to capture beautiful photos for mom’s with their precious babes.

This year, I was so excited to have clients from last year, join me again this year for their Mother’s Day session at Jeffery Open Space.  I was equally as excited to have some fresh faces join in on the fun as well!  It was actually funny because two of the moms are co-workers and didn’t know the other would be there as well!  It was a mini reunion!

The afternoon was filled with giggles and squeals. If you’ve had a session with small children with me, you’ll know the reaction my trusty pig, speckles, gets from the kiddies!! Needless to say, speckles was a hit (as he always is), and was excited to make new friends.  Some of the little details from the sessions that stood out the most to me were:

  • The love you could feel exude from these mom’s onto their children
  • How much Penny (little girl pictured in the 1st session) has grown , and I can’t believe she’s going to be a big sister in just a few short months!!
  • The excitement of Ana having her pictures professionally taken for the first time (second session shown).  I was actually SUPER excited to have a mom think to have pictures taken with her teenage daughter. I LOVE Ana for this.  This is such a great example that you are never to old, nor your kids ever too old, to have your pictures taken together!
  • Gavin, the eldest boy in the third session, constantly answer to his mother with a “yes my darling!”  It was the most adorable thing I had ever heard and I nearly melted to the floor every time he’d say it!

To Nora, Ana and Teresa:  Thank you all so much for joining me at Jeffery Open Space and allowing me to capture you with your most precious treasures. They are all adorable, and so incredibly lucky to have you as their mother.  Wishing you all a Happy Mother’s Day!!
